Villa Taranto

The entrance of Villa Taranto is on the road 34 of Lake Maggiore between Intra and Pallanza, just beyond the tip of Castagnola, a visit to the garden is considered mandatory even for those who have little time.

The Villa Taranto, built at the end of 1800, in an elegant style Norman, was donated by the English captain Mc Eacharn the Italian state with a commitment to direct it, with minor ancillary buildings and the park cultural purposes – scientific and educational activities in field of botany and gardening.

The park is visible from April to October, about 20 hectares large, linking the naturalness of the English style, with clever set design Italian style.

The Botanical Gardens

Embellished with ponds, fountains, from waterfalls, greenhouses, crossed by alleys lined with majestic trees and flowering shrubs, as a whole presents one of the largest collections of exotic plants in Italy.
